Location: Martin Tinney Gallery, Cardiff
Clive Hicks-Jenkins was born in 1951 in Newport. In his early career he was an actor, choreographer, director and stage designer, creating productions with leading companies in London. He moved back to Wales permanently in the late 1980’s to concentrate on his work as an artist. This latest exhibition features paintings and drawings, in addition to screenprints printed by the Penfold press, based on the theme of Gawain and the Green Knight, vividly translated for the 21st century by Simon Armitage.
