Deadline: 25th June 2017
Entry Fee: £25 (Organiser’s commission 40%)
Details: The UK’s BIGGEST contemporary print fair runs 20-23 October 2017 at the Royal Arsenal Riverside in Woolwich. With over 90 specialist artists and exhibitors, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair is the only print fair in London to deal solely in contemporary printmaking. It draws on a rich historic relationship between the arts and old or abandoned military buildings. Venice uses the city’s own Arsenale during their art Biennale and the Royal Arsenal provides a similar extraordinary setting for a fair growing in size, ambition and popularity over the coming years.
The central London gallery, which specialises in supporting early to mid-career artists, is working with the capital’s most prominent developer Berkeley Homes, to create a new cultural venue at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, bringing accessible and dynamic works of art to one of the capital’s hottest emerging districts. When Crossrail opens in 2018, Woolwich will be just 20 minutes from Bond Street.
Celebrating every aspect of printmaking – from etching and lithography, to woodblock and screen-printing, emerging artistic talent sit alongside established practitioners with an incredible range of prints for sale and exhibitors with an unsurpassed knowledge of their craft. Interactive demonstrations offer visitors of all ages an insight into the practice of printmaking and what to look for when starting to build their own collection.
With accessible original prints, WCPF appeals to both longstanding collectors and those looking to buy their first original artwork.
